If you're in a relationship, the frustration of planning what to do with your special someone can become a tedious yearly endeavor. Inviting other couples to a Valentine's Day get-together can be a fun way to add something new to the holiday while still allowing for romantic time with your sweetheart. Valentine Bingo, Lefty's In Love, and Movie Love Quotes are fun games to play with a room full of people, so the more the merrier!  These games would also be perfect for classroom Valentine's Day parties and workplace break time fun!

If you're not in a relationship, spending V-Day alone often feels like rubbing salt in an open wound. That's why having your other friends who are also single over can make the reality of the day not seem quite so depressing.  Doing something different and having a Valentine's Day game night can be a fun new tradition to start.

The Ultimate Lip-Sync Duel

Party Fun for New Years Eve (or Any Night)!

Up until now we have not featured either karaoke or a lip-sync duel as a “go to”  party activity mostly  because I really, really do not like to perform. In fact, I think my husband's biggest fear is traveling to Korea on business and being dragged into a Karaoke club.

Having said all that, we love this Jimmy Fallon lip-sync duel and have to say, dueling karaoke does look like great fun. I can now definitely see this as a New Years Eve or late night party activity as good as, or maybe even better than, charades. Adding a lip-sync duel to your list of party games will appeal to guests of all ages! Choose your playlist based on your guest list. For example, if you are having lots of children, think about including some songs from Frozen. If your party is for adults only, it might be fine to include songs with lyrics that may not be as appropriate if children were present.Party Fun: Lip Sync Duel, karaoke, party fun, activities, games

What could be easier?  Are you like us — we plan every detail of our parties – the invitations, the party decor, the party favors, the food, and never think about planning activities absolutely convinced that our guests are interesting and engaging individuals and can easily entertain themselves.  (except for children’s parties where we plan and schedule every minute).  And then once in a while, we either have a sneaking suspicion a day or so in advance or are caught completely off guard right then and there and realize things aren’t going so well.  We have had political conversations go ballistic, strident parenting advice get a bit overbearing, and the freshly minted vegan choose this opportunity to proselytize.  There is not much to do about it except quickly change the conversation.  That’s where these printable holiday games come in extraordinarily handy. So be your own holiday party savior with this fun and easy way to keep the kids and adults entertained for hours during long holiday gatherings.

Board Game Night Party

Board Game Night

Board Game Night Party

In our increasingly digital world, board games might seem like an old-fashioned pastime. But more and more people are turning to board games as a hobby. These days, board games are more than just the classic Monopoly, Clue, and Connect 4. European-style games are a class of tabletop games that generally have simple rules, short to medium playing times (no five hour Monopoly marathons here!) and lots of social interaction. These kinds of games have become incredibly trendy: board game cafes have opened up all over the world! We think that these games can be a great way to connect with family and friends. So why not change up your usual Friday night entertainment and throw a casual board game night party?

Fair warning: some of the games on this list can be played with kids, but some of them are grown-ups only! For games for all ages, check out our Family Game Night post.

New Year’s Party Printable Games

As the New Year approaches, all of us here at Party Idea {Pros} are beginning to make plans.  Although I usually host a large New Year's Eve Party, this year my house is in such disarray we have reluctantly acquiesced to join a group of friends at a local restaurant.  At least we won't have to drive very far.

With an eight o'clock dinner reservation, I remain concerned about how we are possibly going to fill four hours.  Yes, everyone in our party are close friends who definitely know how to Party Pretty, and  many of whom are even mildly amusing, but 4 hours seated at a table …

So I am seriously considering bringing with me a stack of printable games.  If nothing else, they will certainly produce loud roars of laughter when I whip them out during a lull in the conversation!  The fact is, I think the games will not only be fun in and of themselves, I think they will serve to jump start some lively conversations.
