Almost 2 years later, we still love Minted's Minibook Graduation Announcements!
Wow! We are always impressed by our visitors creativity but you have to check out the Graduation Announcement Reflections MiniBook Vicki assembled in honor of her daughter's graduation from University of Southern California (USC). As one of our early winners of a $50.00 Minted gift certificate, she used this most generous gift to its full advantage. We absolutely love this elegant way to handle graduation announcements. Rather than send a cheap, flimsy typical graduation announcement that truthfully, we often view as a solicitation for a gift, this graduation minibook is truly a celebration of her daughter's four years of college. It is informative, is is gorgeous, and reflects school spirit and the warmth and pride of the family. Thank you Vicki for sharing and introducing us to these unique graduation announcements!!!

Big to Mini Etched Wines & Champagnes for Your Wedding >> Big Bottles
We just partnered with EtchedWine.com specifically because we love love love these etched wine bottles. Not only do these etched wine and champagne bottles look great, they make a huge impression. And many of the bottles can be filled with wine of your choosing. We love the fact that you can choose a six liter bottle to be the centerpiece on your wedding or rehearsal dinner tables and not only serve the wine, you can also have your guests sign the bottle as a “guest book” keepsake!
You can even order coordinating mini bottles to use as party favors. Or if that is a bit extravagant for your wedding budget, maybe just treat your out of town guests by including a mini bottle in your welcome bags.
One more thing >> these fabulous etched wines and champagnes are not just for weddings, they are great for any special occasion! Think fundraisers, milestone birthdays and anniversaries, retirement and graduation parties, and even celebrating the birth of a baby! They would even make a festive addition to Christmas and New Year's Parties!

(words of advice for college graduates … + the starfish poem)
Update >> Since graduation season is once again upon us, we have decided to republish this post since it seems as relevant six years later as the day we wrote it. In those six years, Daniel has gone on to forge a distinguished career in education. And, in my ever so humble opinion, he truly is heeding his commencement speaker's advice and both doing something that matters & helping to save the world. And while I am at it, I want to congratulate two of my nieces who are graduating this spring, Jennifer with her MS in School Counseling and Angela with a BSEd in Education and her teacher certification. Two more graduates who have chosen to go into education to make a difference, one child at a time!
My son, along with his peers from across the country, graduated from college this year. Our family had the honor of listening to Steven Chu, Secretary of Energy in the Obama administration, deliver the Washington University of St Louis commencement address. Chu, in his own uniquely charming and witty way, told the graduates his “take home message to you will be just one sentence. Actually, it will be just four words.”
“Do something that matters.”
and then Chu added
“Help save the world.“
