Are you hosting a special event or taking a vacation and want photos that are seriously better than the ones you can capture via your phone camera? Yet have no interest in investing in a professional photographer let alone spring for the cost of the equipment. Have we found an option for you! If you have not yet heard, Tiny Prints‘ sister company BorrowLenses allows you to rent digital camera equipment for a fraction of the cost of purchasing it.
We love this idea because seldom do most of us need a professional quality camera, it would be great to have occasionally. Yes, you do need to plan a bit in advance so it can be delivered to your door in time. But at least you will know that next time you need a camera you can again choose from the latest technology and will not be stuck with an outdated camera unsuited for your current needs.
Which Camera to Rent
Since we know so little about cameras, we have been reluctant to recommend any, but today we found this fabulous camera review by David Pogue on the Sony a6300 camera. And after checking that BorrowLenses actually carries this camera, felt compelled to share. According to the article this Sony a6300 mirrorless digital camera retails for $1,150 with a lens ($998.00 for the body only) but BorrowLenses offers the exact same Sony a6300 mirrorless digital camera for $68.00 plus the cost of a lens of your choosing.
Think Holiday Cards!
One more thought >> BorrowLenses even offers a three day rental option for just $47.00 plus the cost of the lens which might be ideal if you want to spend an entire weekend trying to capture the perfect holiday card photo. They even have portrait packages that include all the equipment needed for taking perfect portraits. Continue Reading →

We are obsessed with this DIY tutu tutorial we found on Birthday Express. We generally turn to Birthday Express as our “go to” site for kids birthday party supplies but never really thought about using those same supplies in fresh new ways. It was one of those “duh” moments. Why not use tulle to make our own tutus, especially with Halloween just around the corner. And the fact is that although this DIY tutorial uses 2 shades of blue tulle to make a snowflake winter wonderland tutu (which could also be used as a Frozen costume), you could just as easily make a tulle tutu using any of the 14 colors of tulle offered on Birthday Express. Plus, you can easily adjust the length of the tutu to make mom + me matching tutus. We can already envision clown tutu costumes, flower & butterfly tutu costumes, and even tutus showcasing the colors of your favorite sports teams. Continue Reading →
Our close friends and occasional PIP contributors, Vicki and Paige, landed in Waco, Texas for a fun week in search of all things fabulous. It did not take them long to discover a set of wonderful burlap silverware holders. We hate to admit it but this was our first encounter with utensil holders and we are smitten. So of course, we felt compelled to spend a couple of of hours researching burlap utensil pockets and then decided to share a few of our favorites with you. We envision using cutlery pockets for weddings, bridal & baby showers, and birthday & dinner parties . We also think burlap silverware holders could really add that sometime elusive but all so important little splash of wow to your Thanksgiving tables! Continue Reading →
