We love Thanksgiving. It not only brings together family far and near but when done well, Thanksgiving is a leisurely day of game playing and game watching, cooking and eating, and we usually throw in an early morning walk for charity so we don't feel quite so decadent. Last year we planned our extended family vacation. This year, we will most likely plan Popol's 80th birthday celebration but in between, as always, Izzy and Ali will get together to decide which of the many printable Thanksgiving games we will play this year. With Halloween parties and Thanksgiving celebrations just around the corner we thought we would share this yummy Pumpkin Martini Recipe posted by Beau-coup on Facebook. Cheers! This Pumpkin Martini Recipe is not only easy to make it is the perfect signature cocktail for all those fall parties because it looks as good as it tastes!
We love this painted pumpkin vase with fresh flowers that showed up on our Facebook feed from Beau-coup, one of our favorite party favor merchants. Yes, flowers always look great in pumpkins but an orange pumpkin with fall flowers is very predictable. All they did in this photo was spray paint this pumpkin white and add a chic contemporary floral arrangement to create a fresh centerpiece look for fall. We love the painted pumpkin displayed on the acacia cake stand also!
We also think this idea would translate well to an intimate dinner party or could even be used at each place setting as a place card / party favor (one per couple is just fine!). Simply use a miniature painted pumpkin and add a handful of freshly picked ombre flowers...
Last night we happened upon a carved pumpkin display with some stunning pumpkin art but we were particularly taken with a pumpkin that had a rectangular cut out specifically designed for inserting an iPad. It was genius and could make for a spectacular Thanksgiving centerpiece especially if you insert your iPad filled with home movies and family photos into this chic painted pumpkin centerpiece. We highly recommend spray painting the cut-out too!
They are back!!!! Two years ago, we ordered five sets of these solar-powered globe string lights to criss-cross our patio. We were hosting Thanksgiving and the solar powered patio lights would add a canopy effect plus when combined with lots of candles, provide enough light even after sunset. We could not have been more pleased with the entire look and decided to keep the lights up year round. The fact that these globe string lights are solar-powered was absolutely essential to my purchase decision making process. We do not have an outdoor outlet nearby so we would have had to either spend lots of money on an electrician or run the lights under the french doors into the living room. Neither of those solutions were acceptable. Instead, we were able to attach the lights' solar panels to the roof. I won't lie, you can see them but they are not a distraction or an eyesore. All was good. That is until about a month ago when a wind storm hit the patio. The tape I used to attach the lights to the wire infrastructure I had created, was old and cracked and basically gave out. The lights fell and that was that. Ever since, I have been searching for a comparable product. After weeks and weeks of research I decided to check once more, and there they were >> my solar-powered globe string lights are back on Plow & Hearth!!!!!
Just an FYI — When I placed my order I first tried the $15 OFF promo code but it turns out the Free Shipping code was the better way to go for me!
