Have you ever gone onto a site and wondered what products were the merchant's top sellers? We wonder all the time and because we have the inside scoop at most of the merchants we represent, we also are privy to a few trade secrets. So today we thought we would share with you some of the favorites from one of our favorite wedding and party supply merchants, Hanson Ellis.

Fall weddings are just around the corner and it is none to early to begin planning.
Here are some things to consider:
The very first detail you must consider is the date and time of your wedding however do not order your invitations or save the dates before you confirm your venue. It is not uncommon to have to adjust your dates around venue availability or alternatively, adjust your choice of venue around the dates.
The colors you naturally think of for fall (deep reds, oranges, and browns) work great, but if you want to open it up a little, consider olives, purples, dark yellows, and cream.
Some great color combinations include:
Eggplant – Dark Olive – Light Olive
Chocolate – Dark Red – Orange
Chocolate – Light Brown – Cream
Eggplant – Chocolate – Light Brown
Save the Dates
While traditional etiquette calls for sending save the date cards (or magnets) out six months before the big day, there is no reason why you can't send them out 4-5 months out for a late fall wedding.
Especially for your out-of-town guests who need to plan around school and possibly babysitters, they will appreciate any advanced heads up. We recommend Wedding Paper Divas, where you can choose from thousands of designs and then customize them with your own text, pictures, etc. You can send cards, postcards, or even magnets.
Wedding Paper Divas also has hundreds of invitation designs, with nearly 70 specifically for fall weddings. …
You can choose a design that matches your colors, a design with or without pictures, and customize them to your tastes. Whatever design you choose, they are sure to impress. …
Invitations should be sent approximately eight weeks before the wedding.
Tip: For best results and a potential price break, order all of your stationery at the same time. Usually sites like Wedding Paper Divasoffer discounts for ordering matching invitations, programs, menus, and place cards. It also helps you to make 100% sure the designs are exactly the same (same colors, fonts, etc.) …
There is no better source than Wedding Paper Divas for all of your wedding needs. Whether you order invitations or not, you will definitely want to check out their free wedding web sites. You can pick a theme to go along with over 40 of their most popular wedding invitations.
One last thought – bridal shower invitations should be mailed about 4 weeks before the shower unless of course, there are lots of guests making the trip from out of town and then additional notice would be appreciated. Recently we received a bridal shower invitation in November for a mid-July shower. And then received a reminder again in April. We were appalled. The shower is not the wedding and should never be treated as equal.

Today we received an email from one of our favorite wedding stationery merchants, Wedding Paper Divas, sending us to their Real Wedding blog that features the vibrant, Indian wedding of Jasmit (Jesse) and Deepika, at the Hyatt Manchester Grand, in San Diego, California. The couple was married on 9/23/2011–exactly 11 years from their original anniversary in high school, 9/23/2000.
We have juxtaposed some of their gorgeous wedding photos, courtesy of True Photography, against these colorful blue, red, & gold faux tin decorative ceiling tiles because we believe these faux tin tiles would make a stunning photography backdrop for any Indian wedding celebration as well as any Bollywood inspired movie, television or theatrical set. In the past we have featured faux tin tiles as a fabulous option for vintage chic outdoor wedding photography backdrops but clearly decorative ceiling tiles are incredibly versatile and can be used in a myriad of settings.
Wedding Paper Divas did not indicate what wedding invitation the couple chose which is especially surprising since the company has quite a nice selection of invitations whose designs reflect this rich and graphic culture. Here are a few of our favorites.
We had to post this picture as soon as we saw it. Leave it to Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively's Gossip Girl character) to wear 2013's latest trend in wedding dresses – gold & white. This fabulous Georges Chakra Couture strapless gown with a low back is all a-glitter on top and then explodes into a white tulle bottom. It really is so Serena!
