Memorial Day is just around the corner but there is still plenty of time to order a few extras to add a festive touch to your party and you don't need to spend a fortune to do so. We love the little mason jar sippers with red and blue striped straws. Glass bowls filled with red, white and blue jelly belly and m & m candies are fun, easy and inexpensive. Good looking paper plates and napkins are always essential. Throw a few small vases filled with swirl pops and patriotic pretzels around the room intermixed with this simple fresh flower arrangement (ok – we admit, no matter how great our decor, it never seems quite complete unless we have at least one vase of fresh flowers). Patriotic cupcake kits make yummy cupcakes taste even better. How fun would it be to send your guests home with individual bottles of “Hot & Proud” hot sauce which also add a bit of sass to your table settings. And finally, red and blue ribbons remind us of the meaning of Memorial Day.
We haven't re-visited our Zebra Theme Party Planning, Ideas & Supplies party package in many moons but no matter how much time has passed it always puts a smile on our face. Fall weddings are just around the corner and it is none to early to begin planning.
Here are some things to consider:
The very first detail you must consider is the date and time of your wedding however do not order your invitations or save the dates before you confirm your venue. It is not uncommon to have to adjust your dates around venue availability or alternatively, adjust your choice of venue around the dates.
The colors you naturally think of for fall (deep reds, oranges, and browns) work great, but if you want to open it up a little, consider olives, purples, dark yellows, and cream.
Some great color combinations include:
Eggplant – Dark Olive – Light Olive
Chocolate – Dark Red – Orange
Chocolate – Light Brown – Cream
Eggplant – Chocolate – Light Brown
Save the Dates
While traditional etiquette calls for sending save the date cards (or magnets) out six months before the big day, there is no reason why you can't send them out 4-5 months out for a late fall wedding.
Especially for your out-of-town guests who need to plan around school and possibly babysitters, they will appreciate any advanced heads up. We recommend Wedding Paper Divas, where you can choose from thousands of designs and then customize them with your own text, pictures, etc. You can send cards, postcards, or even magnets.
Wedding Paper Divas also has hundreds of invitation designs, with nearly 70 specifically for fall weddings. …
You can choose a design that matches your colors, a design with or without pictures, and customize them to your tastes. Whatever design you choose, they are sure to impress. …
Invitations should be sent approximately eight weeks before the wedding.
Tip: For best results and a potential price break, order all of your stationery at the same time. Usually sites like Wedding Paper Divasoffer discounts for ordering matching invitations, programs, menus, and place cards. It also helps you to make 100% sure the designs are exactly the same (same colors, fonts, etc.) …
There is no better source than Wedding Paper Divas for all of your wedding needs. Whether you order invitations or not, you will definitely want to check out their free wedding web sites. You can pick a theme to go along with over 40 of their most popular wedding invitations.
One last thought – bridal shower invitations should be mailed about 4 weeks before the shower unless of course, there are lots of guests making the trip from out of town and then additional notice would be appreciated. Recently we received a bridal shower invitation in November for a mid-July shower. And then received a reminder again in April. We were appalled. The shower is not the wedding and should never be treated as equal.
Whether you call them fan poms, spirit poms, or rooter poms, this staple of cheer and pom pom squads are typically used to encourage crowd participation and to build team spirit at high school and college sporting events.
Spiritline is now offering individuals, organizations, and fundraising groups a special discount on the bulk purchase of 50 or more spirit poms. Sports fan poms do especially well in gift shops and concession stands because fans find them to be fun and affordable and can be ordered in most school color combinations. Additionally fan poms can be used as a fundraising tool by selling advertising space on custom coupon handle poms.
But our absolute favorite use of spirit poms is to gather a few dozen together and place them in inexpensive white (or any color) urns to create festive, colorful, impressive table centerpieces! Perfect for end of year banquets, award ceremonies, school fundraisers, graduation celebrations, and yes, even patriotic parties. It may be worth hanging around after the game to gather the poms left by fans in the stands. 🙂
If you need fewer than 50 poms, check out Spiritline‘s sister company Shindigz whose minimum pom order is 12 each rather than 5o each.
