The inspiration for this party came from Pam who contacted us searching for gender neutral woodland animals party plates, napkins & cups. She originally visited our post on Fox Theme Party Planning, Ideas, Decor & Supplies and although there are lots and lots of cute ideas, it does not feature exactly what she is looking for. So our team here at PIP cranked into high gear and began searching specifically for party supplies & ideas that could work at a gender neutral woodland animals theme baby shower.
Some of the products we came up with will need to be modified, slightly. For example, we found cute paper goods that work except the napkins say “Happy Birthday”. No big deal >> simply substitute a coordinating solid color. Similarly, we found some adorable plates and napkins but no corresponding cups. This too is an easy enough fix –remember everything does not have to match exactly and if you really want the same pattern on everything, you can always add a matching sticker. Continue Reading →
Plan a Soup Swap Party

December 26th – January 1st
It is about time we put together inspiration for Kwanzaa party planning, ideas & supplies. We are long overdue and sincerely apologize for this oversight.
THE MEANING OF KWANZAA

Kwanzaa is an African-American tradition that’s celebrated from December 26th through January 1st. It’s a fairly modern tradition that was founded by Dr. Maulana Karenga, a California State University professor, in 1966. Kwanzaa is Swahili for “first fruits” and symbolizes the first fruits of harvest. The celebration of Kwanzaa focuses on seven core principles, which each stand for an important African principle that reinforces community among African-Americans.
During the celebration, families light seven candles that are placed in a kinara. Each candle represents one of the core principles, which in Swahili are called “Nguzo Saba”. On the first day of Kwanzaa, families light the black candle, which represents unity (umoja). Each following day, one candle is lit and placed in the kinara. The green candles stand for self-determination (kujchagulia), collective work and responsibility (ujima) and cooperative economics (Ujanima). The red candles stand for purpose (nia), creativity (kuumba) and faith (imani). During Kwanzaa, children also receive gifts of books and symbols.
The books represent the value of learning and the symbols are meant to remind the child of their commitment to African traditions. The final day of Kwanzaa is a time for families to reflect and is meant for inward contemplation. The celebration of Kwanzaa isn’t religious, but is actually a tribute to African ancient cultural traditions and values. It’s a holiday structured on remembrance and culture awareness. It’s that time of year and if you have not already, you will most likely receive at least one invitation to an ugly sweater Christmas party. Since we are pretty sure you don’t have anything ugly hanging in your closet we have put together a few inexpensive options for you to look great wearing ugly!
This year our “go to” ugly sweater shop is Tipsy Elves! Yes the ones from Shark Tank! How fabulous are these Stocking Stuffer Ugly Sweaters!
DIY Ugly Sweaters
The easiest and most inexpensive option is to simply take a sweater you already own and ugly it up. Just pin on goofy holiday related items. You can actually order an Ugly Christmas Sweater Kit on Amazon.
Our second stop is generally Amazon because they have a ridiculously large selection of the ugliest sweaters we have ever seen. Since this is not a sweater you will wear over and over again, at least for us, price trumps quality every time.
