Danny Meyer Thanksgiving Table Setting Ideas

Danny Meyer Thanksgiving Table Setting Ideas

One Kings Lane, the daily home deal site, recently joined forces with Kitchen Papers to produce these one-of-a-kind chic Autumn paper table setting designs. These designs are inspired by famed New York City restaurateur Danny Meyer, the man behind Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, and author of  one of our favorite reads, Table Setting

We recommend you combine these stylish-yet-rustic paper placemats, paper napkins, and paper table runners, each adorned with a motif of fresh garden vegetables, to create a stunning Thanksgiving table.  The combination will result in the oft sought but hard to achieve sense of sophistication and quality that comes across as effortless.

Although I haven't completely made up my mind, with 50 relatives ringing the doorbell at exactly 1:00 on Thanksgiving Thursday, I am very tempted to go with this design aesthetic. The idea would be to combine the causal elegance of this  kraft paper design with my collection of fine china, Fiesta dinnerware and crystal stemware. Not only does this design blend seamlessly into my industrial modern home decor, I think it will make re-setting the tables in between courses so much easier – I can just snatch up the dirty placemats, toss them in the trash and add a fresh mat at each place setting  Plus, I could pull the look all together with copper colander centerpieces (filled with fresh seasonal vegetables, and cacti or ivy filler) and chalkboard chic food tags. Since I serve so many different dishes to satisfy a vast array of dietary restrictions, I think it might be helpful to label them all so individuals can choose whether or not to partake. And while I am thinking about it, wouldn't it be great to serve Moscow Mules in copper cups as a festive drink to visually compliment the centerpieces?

I would love to hear what you think – buy now or keep looking? Continue Reading →

Delightful Disposables – MYdrap Cotton Table Linens

Now on Sale at One Kings Lane

Cotton table linens that you simply tear off a roll (like a paper towel but way cuter!), use, then  machine-wash (up to 6 times) or recycle – it’s an idea so clever you might wonder why no one has come up with it before. No more worrying about red-wine or tomato-sauce stains or having to stick to the same palette party after party. Not only do we love, love, love the packaging, we adore the brilliant hues and fun patterns too.

Yes, we here at PartyIdeaPros.com keep a large stock of MYdrap recyclable cotton table linens both in our home kitchens and also in our office lunch and conference rooms.  We regularly recommend them for use at bright & cheerful children's parties,  baby showers, impromptu picnics, and backyard barbecues – sometimes we just put the roll out and let our guests pull off their own napkins.  We have also seen them used more formally at chic  outdoor country and vintage style wedding receptions as well as at upscale restaurants and refined dinner parties.
