Words of Advice for Graduates & The Starfish Poem

Update >> Since graduation season is once again upon us, we have decided to republish this post since it seems as relevant seven years later as the day we wrote it. In those seven years, Daniel has gone on to forge a distinguished career in education. And, in my ever so humble opinion, he truly is heeding his commencement speaker's advice and both doing something that matters & helping to save the world. And while I am at it, I want to congratulate two of my nieces who are graduating this spring, Katie and Sami. Two more graduates who I am certain will make their mark in the world!

My son, along with his peers from across the country, graduated from college this year. Our family had the honor of listening to Steven Chu, Secretary of Energy in the Obama administration, deliver the Washington University of St Louis commencement address. Do something that matters.”

and then Chu added

Help save the world.

Decorating with Easter Bunnies

We love Easter! We love bunnies! So what better way to add a touch or two of cuteness to your spring home decor than by decorating with Easter bunnies. We fell in love with Pier 1 Imports Hop Town Bunnies (which are now on sale for 20% OFF) but you can just as easily use any plush bunny. And much like people, bunnies are just as lovable in any size, color, shape, and age (vintage & homemade bunnies are the BEST!).

Once you fully invest in decorating with Easter bunnies, you will quickly see that part of the fun for your family and guests is discovering delightful bunnies in the most unusual places. Place them in your garden, walking up your stairway, hidden in your bookshelves, and obviously, gracing your Easter table. We are particularly enamored with the little bunny peaking out of the mud boot in this front hallway vignette. Continue Reading →
