Soup Swap Party Invitation

Soup Swap Party

Another who woulda thunk it moment! January 21st (the 3rd Saturday of January) is this year's 12th Annual Soup Swap. We originally read about this creative party idea in Sara McColl's Yahoo article entitled “The Only Party Invitation We Want This Time of Year” and followed the link chain to the the Soup Swap Facebook page. I guess it shouldn't surprise anyone that we were intrigued. A winter party theme that is easy to organize, allows you to keep your weight loss / get healthy resolutions, has very little cost associated with it. And best of all you get to go home with one of the best party favors ever –  6 quarts of delicious soups, enough for dinner for a week.

Usher in a Rosy New Year!

Usher in a Rosy New Year!

These fabulous New Year's invitations from Tiny Prints inspired us to create an entire New Years party theme.  We love the idea of ushering in a rosy new year or starting the new year wearing rose colored glasses, figuratively. Rather than gold and black glitz and glam, the softness of these invitations set the tone for an all round kinder, gentler new year.  We'll toast to that >> Cheers! Continue Reading →

Our Own Little Christmas Gnome Birthday Party

Our Own Little Christmas Gnome Birthday Party

Our Own Little Christmas Gnome Birthday Party

So we got to thinking, last year at this time we were frantically putting together a pink snowman winter one-derland party theme  for a visitor who emailed asking for some inspiration for their daughter's 1st birthday party.  This year we challenged ourselves to create a fresh holiday take on a baby boy's 1st birthday party.

Once we found this adorable gnome costume, we were set. Our theme would be Our Little Christmas Gnome Birthday Party.  Not only would the photos be #toocute, we loved the idea of combining blue and red with splashes of green to create a playful, festive holiday theme first birthday party. We also found some cute gnome party invitations with a red and white polka dot background – how perfect was that! Continue Reading →

Print and Play!

What could be easier?  Are you like us — we plan every detail of our parties – the invitations, the party decor, the party favors, the food, and never think about planning activities absolutely convinced that our guests are interesting and engaging individuals and can easily entertain themselves.  (except for children's parties where we plan and schedule every minute).  And then once in a while, we either have a sneaking suspicion a day or so in advance or are caught completely off guard right then and there and realize things aren't going so well.  We have had political conversations go ballistic and strident parenting advice get a bit overbearing.  There is not much to do about it except quickly change the conversation.  That's where these Halloween printable games come in extraordinarily handy.  In just a few minutes, we can change the course of the evening.  Don't get caught in a scary spot.  Plan ahead this Halloween by having a stack of pre-printed games ready at a moments notice.  Have a fun-filled Halloween and party hearty!

One more thought … many of these print and play games work great in a classroom.  Some are even customizable so you can tailor them to your lesson or set them aside for your classroom Halloween celebration.
