Ask my grandmother what help she had when she’d throw a dinner party back in the day and her reply will be: “Absolutely none. I’d start from scratch with a few old recipes my mother scribbled down into a notebook.”

Thankfully nowadays, we have apps like Panna to make our dinner party experience that much better. Panna is the video cooking app that allows you to stream and follow step-by-step recipes from master chefs across America—all the while in your own kitchen. Sounds too good to be true? Guess again!

Thanksgiving Dinner Party Essentials

Thanksgiving Dinner Party Essentials

Thanksgiving is without doubt my favorite holiday — beautiful tables, great food, and none of the stress associated with the winter holidays. This is the perfect time to reconnect with loved ones whether they be family or friends. So first things first, if you haven't yet made your travel arrangements, the time is NOW!

Thanksgiving Dinner Party Table Decor

Last year we hosted Thanksgiving in San Diego – here is a peek at our tables! And we would love to find a way to use the coloring turkey die-cut placemats! Continue Reading →

Bring Your Pup Howl-O-Ween Party Ideas

Our friends over at GreatGets.com have challenged us to create a Halloween costume party for couples and their dogs.  We accept the challenge and hope you all will send us your pictures of your first annual Bring Your Pup Howl-O-Ween Party.

Our first recommendation is to choose an outdoor venue. If your backyard is not large enough consider moving the festivities to your local dog park. Our second recommendation, plan on wearing costumes but if the whole costume thing becomes too stressful for either your dog or yourself, take it off. The bottom line is parties are about getting together and enjoying friends and family. It is not worth skipping the fun because of an aversion to costumes. Continue Reading →

Mountain Day Inspiration >> Celebrate Autumn!

Today is Mountain Day! The Smith College bells were rung early this morning (October 5th) to announce that the college's president has suspended classes for the day. Students are free to go hiking, have picnics, pick apples at local farms, or just take a relaxing break. #smithmountainday

What a beautiful tradition!  As some of you who have been following me for a while know, this is not the first time I have waxed poetic about Mountain Day.  I truly believe that every institution and organization should establish a similar holiday dedicated to re-invigorating the soul.
