It may be summer but it is amazing how many of you are searching for perfect couple’s costumes. Whether you are already planning for Halloween, getting ready for Fall fraternity and sorority rush parties, or finally realize how much bang for your buck you get by adding a costume element to almost any theme party, you not only want costumes ideas, you also want to be able to see your options all in one convenient location. So basically we have combined all of our previous costume posts onto one page plus have added a few new ideas. We will continue to add new couples costumes as they arrive in the stores, so keep checking back! I like to think of myself as a thoughtful person but if I am honest with myself, much of my thoughtfulness is just that … thinking about being thoughtful. Just in the last few months, both my friends Vicki and Karen lost their family dogs. They were heart broken and I knew it. For weeks I thought about sending a card but never seemed to get around to buying one. Eventually too much time passed. Yet another instance of thoughtfulness without thoughtful action.

Finally a craze slow in coming to California, yet before it even takes hold, schools and school districts across the country are banning bandz. The bandz craze seems to have begun in Birmingham Alabama last year and now bandz are flying off shelves throughout the country. These colorful rubber bands are made of silicone and die molded, come in a variety of shapes and themes, and are manufactured by a handful of vendors. Basically, kids wear them, collect them, and trade them! Bandz come in multi-band packs starting at about $5.00/pack. Best of all, Bandz make for great party favors and napkin rings! (Warning: Choking Hazard! Not recommended for children under 3 years old!)

So why are they being banned at schools? Basically kids are distracted by the bandz — fiddling with them and plotting trading strategies, all day, all night. Occasionally, trades go awry and schoolyard brawls ensue. Should bandz be banned? And if so, does banning bandz make them more desirable? Let us know what you think!
