Party Idea Pros strongly suggests you keep your invitations occasion specific. Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are very special life cycle events and should be respected as such. There are lots of invitations to choose from but here is our favorite.

Embossed Border of Jerusalem Invitation
This square, layered, flat invitation features an ecru bottom card with a brown, textured middle card. The top card features an embossed border of Jerusalem. Square cards require additional postage. Personalized Stamps for Invitation
Generally, Party Idea Pros loves to use personalized stamps but in this case, the USPS stamp is so perfect, why spend extra money unless you want to feature a picture of the Bar Mitzvah boy on the stamp or if you you want to use a single postage specific stamp. Please be sure to bring a complete invitation, including all inserts, to a local post office to determine exactly how much postage is required.  Please do not mix stamps. It is better to add too much postage than a hodgepodge of mismatched stamps. You have spent so much time and money on every other detail, the difference in price is not worth giving a sloppy first impression,

Order baseball kippot with no trim and gold imprint.  If you have a large number of congregants
regularly attending services, be sure to order extra. You also might want to order some extra to bring to your havdallah ceremony. Prices vary.

Kiddush Luncheon

We firmly believe the Kiddush luncheon decor should relate either to your son’s Parsha (Torah portion), reflect his mitzvah project, be consumable, or be very simple and neutral.
Centerpiece Ideas
Call your local Jewish Family Services. Many offer a program called Centerpieces for Tzedakah. JFS (or its local equivalent) will rent you centerpieces for your event with all proceeds benefitting a local charity. This is a great option if friends or family have offered to host the Kiddush luncheon in your daughter’s honor. We did this for my niece’s Bat Mitzvah in Atlanta and arranged for it all by phone in San Diego. Be sure to include a note on each table explaining the significance of the centerpiece.
Consider creating centerpieces to donate to your local food pantry or homeless shelter. Display non-perishable food in a paper grocery bag cut down to about 4 inches high. or create baskets filled with stuffed animals, books, sporting goods, toys, or school supplies or toiletries.
To create toiletry gifts for woman’s shelters fill a few of these bamboo bar trays or acrylic sports ball display cubes with all the essentials.
